Apply To Be on the Legacy Genetics Community Advisory Board

Updated: Dec 11

The Legacy Genetics Project is inviting community members from CA’s legacy-producing communities to apply for the Community Advisory Board (CAB). Applications are open through December 31st, 2025. Apply for the CAB here.

The C.A.B. will comprise 13 members of the legacy producing community, including representation from rural, urban, and BIPOC communities, with exceptional knowledge, experience, and expertise relevant to legacy genetics.

The CAB will meet virtually for 12 months (January - December 2026), and each advisor will receive a minimum $7500 annual stipend to support us in this final year of project activities:

  • Inform the Community-Based Participatory Research model

  • Advise on research participant recruitment

  • Support research analysis and help inform findings

  • Review and provide input on project materials

  • Collaborate with researchers to develop policy recommendations

The CAB application window will be open through December 31st, 2025. The research team will evaluate applications in accordance with the guidelines established by the LCG Focus Group and select and onboard the 13 members of the CAB in early January 2026.  The members of the CAB will be announced on our website, and all applicants will be notified via email. Applicants who did not secure a seat on the CAB have the option to be added to the CAB waiting list to be onboarded if seat(s) open up at a later time.

The application form explains the 12-month scope of work and commitments for CAB members and should take about 15–30 minutes to complete. Anyone is welcome to apply! All submitted application information is kept confidential and viewed only by the Legacy Cannabis Genetics project team. No identifying information about any applicants will be disclosed publicly, other than the names of those selected to serve on the CAB.
