The Board of Supervisors Approved an Application Process for Dispensaries in North San Juan and Soda Springs
Big news for Nevada County cannabis! The Board of Supervisors just approved an application process for dispensaries in North San Juan and Soda Springs, with one store in each community, and it moves us a real step closer to selling local cannabis right here at home.
Here's what happens next. Businesses that apply go through selection, and from there each one will still need to be approved for a specific location along with the necessary permits and licenses required. The process is underway, and that's worth celebrating.
Diana Gamzon, Executive Director of the Nevada County Cannabis Alliance, spoke on behalf of the Nevada County cannabis industry at the hearing: "The retail process before you today is a culmination of creating what is so desperately needed, which is a closed-loop cannabis economy and a cannabis supply chain where our cannabis, which is farmed in Penn Valley and the Ridge and other areas of the county, can be sold locally."
Years of work went into getting here, and we're ready for what comes next. We'll keep you posted every step of the way.
