Now is the time to get ready to apply for the Good to Grow Grants. The Cannabis Alliance is here to support you through the process. Listed below are resources to help support you through the grant process.

Deadline:
You must complete your application by October 30, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PST. This is NOT a first-come, first-served program. Applications will be evaluated as they are submitted and final amounts will not be determined or distributed until after the application period has closed on October 30, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PST.

Eligibility Criteria:
Conviction and/or Arrest: Any individual who has obtained or applied for a commercial cannabis permit in Nevada County, or who has worked in or currently works in the cannabis industry and was arrested and/or convicted of a non- violent cannabis-related offense or was subject to asset forfeiture arising from a cannabis-related event.
Family Conviction and/or Arrest: Have a parent, sibling, or child who was arrested for or convicted of the sale, possession, use, manufacture, or cultivation of cannabis (including as a juvenile).
Low Income Status: Any individual and/or entity that has obtained or applied for a commercial cannabis permit, and the permit is for a business located in an area in Nevada County with a poverty rate higher than the State of California, or any individual who can demonstrate their annual income is below the Nevada County median income of $87,200.
Files Needed for the Application Process:
Public records: Newspaper articles, arrest records, neighbor's sworn statement, Sheriff's logs, conviction records, etc. Arrest related documents must reference a non-violent cannabis related arrest, anywhere in the USA.
Permits, employer verification, forfeiture records.
Tax returns, W-2s, 1099, or evidence of participation in a government assistance program.
Fictitious Business Name (FBN), or articles of incorporation with shareholder data.
Proof of residency for five years between 1976 and 2016 such as utility bills, property tax records, rental agreements.
IRS W-9 Form (can fill out in office)
Nevada County Cannabis Cultivators Invited to Apply for Good to Grow Grants
Current legal cannabis applicants and those interested in entering the regulated market in Nevada County can apply for financial assistance from the County’s Good to Grow Grant Program. The County has partnered with Sierra Business Council to administer and disperse grant funds and the Nevada County Cannabis Alliance to provide education and outreach services to cannabis applicants and cultivators.
